Opening Bell 21/02: JCI May Decline

JCI is geared to decline today with the release of US central bank meeting statement.
· JCI is geared to decline today with the release of US central bank meeting statement on potential suspension to securities purchase program by the Federal Reserve. JCI is also already in overbought position, with potential profit-taking activities.
· FTSE 100 edged up by 0.26 percent, DAX declined 0.30 percent and CAC slid 0.69 percent.
· Dow Jones slipped 0.77 percent, S&P 500 dropped 1.24 percent and Nasdaq weakened 1.53 percent.
· This morning Nikkei opened lower by 0.46 percent.

Brent US$ 115.60 / barrel (down by 1.63 percent)
Gold US$ 1,569.95 / oz (0.33 percent)
Nickel US$ 17,104 / metric ton (down by 1.26 percent)

Asian Markets:
Asian stocks opened lower in response to news on Federal Reserve. MSCI Asia Pacific sank 0.5 percent this morning to 134 points, while Japan's Nikkei declined by 0.46 percent. The Kospi index slid 0.2 percent. Australian ASX Index dropped 0.9 percent.
Release of Federal Reserve minutes of meeting showed dissenting opinions of the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve as related to the sustainability of monetary policy stimulus.
While in China, Prime Minister Wen Jiabao asked the local authorities to stop housing speculation activities.
US:
US stocks fell the most since November on the news from Federal Reserve.
Standard & Poor's benchmark index slipped 1.2 percent to 1,511 points. Dow Jones dropped 0.8 percent.
The biggest concern, according to Cambiar Investors, is the suspension of quantitative easing stimulus program.
Quantitative Easing is a program for bond purchase worth US$ 85 billion each month from the capital market. (*)

Penerbangan Non-Stop Emirates ke Jakarta-Dubai Jadi Tiga Kali

JAKARTA – Emirates, maskapai penerbangan asal Uni Emirates Arab, menambah penerbangannon-stop dari Jakarta ke Dubai dan Dubai-Jakarta menjadi tiga kali sehari. Mohammed Al Nahari, Country Manager Emirates, mengatakan penambahan penerbangan non-stop ini menjadikan Emirates sebagai salah satu maskapai penerbangan jarak jauh terbesar yang beroperasi di Indonesia.

Sampai saat ini, Emirates telah membawa 2.500 penumpang setiap hari dengan kapasitas kargo mencapai 315 ton per pekan. Penambahan penerbangan non-stop itu akan dimulai pada Maret 2013 mendatang.

“Kami tengah menyelesaikan berbagai persiapan di Jakarta terkait penambahan jadwal terbang. Dalam sebulan ke depan kami akan menyelesaikan berbagai persiapan di Jakarta dan seluruh jaringan global kami, untuk mendorong pariwisata, bisnis, dan perdagangan yang terhubung dalam rute ini,” kata dia, Kamis.

Penerbangan tiga kali sehari Emirates memberikan keleluasaan pada penumpang yang berpergian dari Indonesia dengan pilihan jadwal penerbangan yang diinginkan. Penumpang dapat melanjutkan penerbangan mereka ke 129 destinasi lainnya dari Dubai. Emirates akan menggunakan pesawat Boeing 777-300ER, dengan kabin kelas bisnis dan ekonomi.

Penerbangan ketiga Emirates ini akan terbang dari Dubai pada pukul 18.30 sore dan tiba di Jakarta pukul 05.55 pagi. Sedangkan penerbangan dari Jakarta dengan pesawat yang sama berangkat 07.25 pagi dan tiba di Dubai pukul 12.15.

Penerbangan lainnya akan terbang dari Dubai pukul 04.15 pagi dan tiba di Jakarta pukul 15.40 sore. Kemudian, berangkat lagi dari Jakarta pukul 17.45 sore dan tiba di Dubai pukul 22.45 malam.

Jadwal lainnya berangkat dari Dubai pukul 11.10 pagi dan tiba di Jakarta pukul 21.30 malam. Kemudian pesawat akan berangkat lagi dari Jakarta pukul 00.40 pagi dan tiba di Dubai pukul 05.30 pagi waktu setempat. (*)
